1. Generate SSH-Key on Windows Environment
In the following procedure a 1024-bit RSA private/public key pair will be generated on the SSH clients PC. On a Windows machine, you can use PuttyGen to generate a public/private key pair. The private key is what you need on the client machine - for use with Putty for example. The public key goes to the host machine.
To download puttygen.exe, url : http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/download.html
Open PuTTY Key Generator (puttygen.exe) which should look something like

i. Select SSH-2 RSA and 1024 bits. Click on the Generate key.
ii. Enter an appropriate/descriptive Key comment (smartmachine – admin, Linux – root), enter a strong pass phrase in the Key passphrase window then reenter the pass phrase in the Confirm the passphrase window.
iii. Click on the Save private key button to convert and save the private key in files folder on the client PC. Create the folder if needed.

2. Upload SSH-Key to User Account

i. Copy the private/public key pair the newly created public key.

i. In order to use a private/public key pair the newly created public key must be moved to the your account in portal
ii. Named the private/public key.
iii. Click ‘Add This Key’ to save public/private key
